The Classic Events team has over 26 years business and event management experience. The diverse skills and considerable experience is really what gives us the edge to stand out from the crowd, and ensures we are continually striving to make your event do the same.
Our experience encompasses event management, sponsorship and exhibition management, sales and marketing, sponsorship relationship building, business development and venue management.
We have successfully run the iconic Balloons over Waikato for the past 7 years; one of the last large scale free events in the country and classified as one of five ‘Hallmark’ events for the region. We also run the very successful Camper Care NZ Motorhome and Caravan Expo in Hamilton and Christchurch.
Our team members have experience in running a variety of other Events, Shows and Expos including The Camper Care Motorhome and Caravan Expo, since its inception.

Balloons Over Waikato
Balloons over Waikato is New Zealand’s largest event of its kind, attracting thousands of people locally, nationally and internationally. It is one of the largest events in the Waikato of any type and the premier balloon event in New Zealand. It remains one of the last large scale free events in the country. In March, at Innes Common on the edge of Hamilton’s central city lake and the grounds of the University of Waikato, more than 130,000 spectators thrill to the sight of the annual Balloons over Waikato Festival. Tens of thousands more have the opportunity to become involved at other sites throughout the Waikato region.
This event has grown since Michele Connell’s tenure, outgrowing the previous Nightglow venue, now attracting a record crowd of approximately 80,000 people to that evening alone.
Michele has created and implemented many new initiatives covering everything from new entertainment, improved traffic management, enhanced sponsorship packages, improved balloonist participation to more effective site layout, greater sponsorship and corporate involvement and complimentary developments for the greater enjoyment of the public.
The event is now classified as a Hallmark event for the City of Hamilton and enjoys Iconic status. Since Michele’s involvement, we have won Best Waikato Event, as voted by the public three of the last four years the awards have been running, as well as leading the team to win the prestigious Westpac Business Excellence Award – Best Not For Profit in 2008.

The Camper Care New Zealand Motorhome & Caravan Show North & South Island
As New Zealand’s Premier Motorhome & Caravan National event, we specialise in providing a complete experience for all visitors interested in owning a motorhome or caravan. The Camper Care New Zealand Motorhome and Caravan Show has just concluded one of the most successful shows on record for retailers and manufacturers. The Hamilton show held in March included public interest and sales that exceeded many exhibitors’ expectations, once again showing how important this premier event is to the industry.
We are constantly developing the show and plan to implement a number of new initiatives next year to keep the event fresh and appealing to the public.
